Mr. Arif Ahmed Khan assumed the charge of Chief Executive, Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) on 8th August, 2019. A career Civil Servant with 36 years of experience in Public Administration, he has served the federal and provincial governments in important positions. Mr. Khan holds a Master in Public Policy from Concordia University Canada. Before joining TDAP as Chief Executive he has served as Secretary, Ministry of Finance, Economic Affairs Division, Ministry of Water Resources, Ministry of Interior and Ministry of Climate Change.
Mr. Khan has served as Additional Chief Secretary, Planning and Development Department, Government of Sindh where his responsibilities included approval and overall implementation of the Annual Development Program of the Province. He was also responsible to coordinate planning and development activities of various departments of Provincial Government. He was Secretary Finance for the Government of Sindh during 2012-13. Prior to that, he remained Home Secretary to Government of Sindh for three and a half years.
He also had the opportunity of serving as Consul General and Trade Commissioner of Pakistan Montreal, Canada and the Programme Coordinator of International Trade Centre (ITC), Geneva. In between he was Director General for the Export Promotion Bureau (now Trade Development Authority of Pakistan) in 2004-2005. He has served as Deputy Commissioner in three districts of Sindh in the initial years of his service.
